Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application process.

Applications are actually open and may shut on 15 December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should satisfy the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a home with a combined gross family income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• Individuals with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic earnings isn't going to exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent people from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are nsfas application reminded to offer the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are learning or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to nsfas status wait until the last day.

Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
